Unless a more specific storage period has been stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for erasure or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for retaining it.

General legal bases

Where you have consented to data processing, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where your data is necessary for the performance of a contract, we process it on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Further processing may be based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

We hereby object to the use of contact data published as part of the legal notice obligation for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising materials.

4. Data collection on this website

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small data packets stored on your device. You can configure your browser to inform you when cookies are set and to allow cookies only in individual cases.

Technically necessary cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. For all other cookies (analytics, external media) we obtain your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can change your cookie settings at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. This data is not merged with other data sources.

AI assistant Klara

On this website you can ask questions and send us enquiries via Klara, our AI-powered assistant. Klara is operated by us at klara.kastner.de and opens when you click the Klara button or the chat preview.

Opening the chat window: When opened, the chat window is loaded from klara.kastner.de. As with any page request, technically necessary connection data (IP address, browser type, time) is processed (see “Server log files”). No data is transmitted to third parties at this point.

Consent before the conversation starts: Before you send your first message, Klara informs you about the data processing and asks for your consent. Only then are your inputs processed. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If the conversation leads to a specific enquiry, it is additionally processed to take steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Data processed: the content of your messages and any information you provide in them – for an enquiry, in particular your request, your name and your e-mail address. Please do not enter any particularly sensitive data (e.g. health data, bank or login details) in the chat.

Purpose: answering your questions in real time and – if you confirm this during the conversation – forwarding your enquiry to our team by e-mail. No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place; Klara does not make binding offers.

Anthropic as processor: To generate the responses, your messages are transmitted to the Claude API of Anthropic, PBC, 548 Market St, PMB 90375, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA. A data processing agreement (Data Processing Addendum) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with Anthropic. Anthropic does not use content submitted via the API to train AI models and retains it only for a limited period, in particular for abuse detection, before deleting it in accordance with Anthropic’s policies.

Transfer to the USA: The transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), which form part of the data processing agreement with Anthropic.

Storage period: We treat enquiries forwarded to us like enquiries by e-mail and delete them once they have been fully processed and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.

Voluntariness and withdrawal: Using Klara is voluntary. Without consent you can reach us at any time via the contact form, by e-mail or by phone. You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future, e.g. by e-mail to datenschutz@kastner.de.
