Shortly before the turn of the century, Eugen Fleischmann sen. publishes the first Wolnzacher Anzeiger – a versatile local newspaper, printed on the legendary "Sturmvogel" sheet-fed letterpress machine. With this inaugural edition, the roots of Kastner GmbH are from the very beginning in the areas of editorial, publishing and printing.
Like many other independent newspapers, the Wolnzacher Anzeiger is banned by the Nazis. A dark chapter in the history of the company.
The passionate journalist and war veteran Eduard Kastner sen. marries Eugenie Fleischmann four years after the end of the war and takes over the company. A new chapter begins.

In 1981, Eduard Kastner sen. passes away. His son Eduard (Ted) Kastner takes over the company. In the following decades he further expands the print and publishing house and increases the company's turnover tenfold.
To expand the bookbinding operation, a 2,000 m² storage and multi-purpose hall is built in the Wolnzach industrial estate. Saddle stitchers, perfect binders and additional finishing machines are put into use.
Eduard Kastner's daughter Patricia develops the internet company ContentServ GmbH together with Alexander Wörl. The two companies merge – giving rise to the new stock company Kastner AG.
The family business is rejuvenated: after completing his Master's degree in Innovation Management at Central Saint Martins College in London, Dennis Kastner joins the management team. He represents the 5th generation of this owner-managed family business.
